A sample of a polished brass weight has arrived to us! And we really could not be happier with the finish. It is S H I N Y. Oh and not to mention heavy. That weight alone clocks in at 2900 grams (a tad heavier than a fully built full aluminum Bahrnob).

Brass Update:
Due to brass being a very soft material that scratches extremely easily, it had to be chrome plated to achieve a mirror finish without getting many issues. Since we have such a large surface area of flat metal, it is almost impossible to keep the raw brass clean. This was an error the manufacturer ran into several times while creating the weight. (means almost everything sent to us would have had a lot of marks and everything would end up being B-stock) We know some of you were really looking forward to the patina of the brass part, but we hope the scratch resistance and mirror finish can make up for it.
TLDR: Brass weights now have a chrome finish (chromium finish) to make it shiny, but no longer can be patinaed.
Unfortunately, a minor manufacturing error occurred, specifically with the e-white and the brass weights. The e-coating and chrome finish has added a layer thickness that made the fitting of the case and weights a bit tight (we had initially accounted for this but the manufacturer’s coatings were a lot thicker than anticipated). Because of this, the manufacturer is making adjustments on their end to make sure that these pieces fit together properly.
As for packaging, we have finalized a design on the boxes and we are ordering them right away! Just to give y’all a vague idea of what packaging is going to look like, we have a box with a magnetic lip! The case, weight, and bar/knob will be shrink wrapped similar to this picture here:
And they will be placed in the box between layers of foam. We’ll show y’all a picture of this once we have the boxes in hand so you have a better idea of what to expect for packaging. Don’t worry though because we will take extra precaution to make sure none of your pretty Bahrnob get hurt during shipment (especially for y’all brass gang) :)
To answer a question that has come up in the discord:
Q: Can I purchase a separate brass weight during extras?
A: We are primarily focusing on fulfilling y'all's current orders right now, so extras is something that we will finalize later. What we will say though, is, due to logistics, we will most likely not be selling the weight separate from the rest of the kit (UNLESS we have a mismatched number of cases and weights after QC). If that is the case, we will try and prioritize brass weight availability to peeps who have purchased a Bahrnob already and want that weight upgrade. Please wait on stand-by for future extra announcements.
